Age limit to become IAS

If you belong to the backward caste i.e. OBC, then you can give this exam for a maximum of 35 years. On the other hand, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC / ST) can appear in this examination up to a maximum age of 37 years.
For physically handicapped scholars, the maximum age has been kept at 42 years for unreserved category, 45 years for OBC, and 47 years for SC and ST.
How many attempts are there in the IAS exam?
Although earlier there was no such rule, later the Union Public Service Commission set certain limits (IAS Attempt Limit) for appearing in this exam according to the category.
Mainly an Unreserved Category (UR) candidate can appear in this exam 6 times, OBC (OBC) candidates 9 times and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates can sit in this exam unlimited times.
If the candidate has any physical disability then 9 attempts are given for the general category and OBC while unlimited attempts are given for SC/ST.
IAS Selection Process
There are mainly three stages that candidates have to go through to get finally selected for the post of IAS. In the first stage, all the candidates have to appear for the preliminary exam also known as CSAT. After that, the shortlisted candidates in this exam are called for the main exam. What is the salary of ISS?
If you are finally selected for the post of IAS, then according to the Seventh Pay Commission, you get a fixed salary honorarium of ₹ 50000 to 150000 under 16500-grade pay. Apart from this, an IAS officer also gets government accommodation, a government vehicle, and other facilities and allowances.
Normally the entry-level salary of an IAS officer is ₹56000. An IAS officer can reach the post of maximum cabinet secretary by getting a promotion, whose maximum pay scale is up to ₹ 250000 per month. But only a few candidates can reach this post. Normally this post is obtained after more than 37 years of service.
